Sciatica describes pain, numbness, tingling, or other symptoms that travel along the path of the sciatic nerve, often from the lower back or buttock into the leg. The nerve itself is frequently the victim rather than the original problem. Disc injuries, inflammation, restricted spinal or pelvic motion, degenerative changes, and other mechanical problems can irritate or place stress on the nerves that eventually form the sciatic nerve.
Our goal is to determine **why the nerve is irritated in the first place**. Depending on the cause, care may include chiropractic adjustments, flexion-distraction, decompression, postural or structural correction, and exercises designed to improve spinal mechanics and reduce stress on the affected tissues.
