Tennis & Golfer's Elbow

You don’t have to play tennis or golf to develop either of these conditions. Tennis elbow affects the tendons on the outside of the elbow, while golfer’s elbow affects those on the inside. Both are commonly caused by repetitive gripping, lifting, sports, tools, computer work, or other activities that repeatedly load the forearm tendons. When the problem becomes chronic, the tendon may develop degenerative changes and have difficulty completing the normal healing process.

**Focused Shockwave Therapy is one of our primary treatments for chronic tennis and golfer’s elbow.** The treatment allows us to precisely target the involved tendon with focused acoustic energy, stimulating biological processes associated with circulation, tissue repair, and remodeling. We also evaluate the mechanics of the elbow, wrist, and surrounding joints when appropriate to identify factors that may continue to overload the tendon.
