INSiGHT Spinal Scans

Health isn’t simply the absence of symptoms—it’s also about how well your body is functioning. And if our objective is to improve function, an important question is: How do we know if function is improving if we don’t measure it?

Your spine is more than bones and joints. It’s part of a complex neuromuscular system, and INSiGHT scanning technology gives us additional objective information about function that can’t be seen on an X-ray.

Depending on the clinical situation, scans may include surface electromyography (sEMG) to evaluate patterns of muscular activity along the spine, thermography to measure temperature patterns, and heart rate variability (HRV) measurements that provide information about autonomic nervous system regulation, including the relationship between sympathetic “fight or flight” and parasympathetic “rest and repair” activity.

These scans don’t diagnose a particular disease. Instead, they provide objective information about patterns of neuromuscular and autonomic function that can complement your examination and help us track changes over time. Rather than relying exclusively on “How do you feel?”, we can add another layer of measurable information to the picture.
